Home-Start provides family support throughout NSW & Victoria

Home-Start provides free professional and volunteer support to vulnerable families in their homes and communities. We work with parents who are struggling to cope, with a focus on families with children under 8 years.

We employ professional Family Workers throughout NSW who are flexible to the needs of their community and promote safety and wellbeing. Home-Start programs are also auspiced through a number of organisations in Victoria.

We’ve mobilised a highly trained team of volunteers who support individual families and help them form strong connections to resources in their local community.

Our aim is to encourages parents’ strengths, treat every family with dignity and respect, and build emotional wellbeing and confidence for happier, healthier families.

We understand and accept the wrongs of the past and the enormous impact these wrongs have had on generations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.  As an organisation we will, at all times, strive to make amends for these wrongs and ensure that they are never repeated.

We will be guided by, and learn from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to ensure their rights are recognised and upheld.

Helping vulnerable families

Parents who are referred to us usually have little or no support. They may be isolated and experiencing depression, anxiety or other mental health issues. Sometimes they’re overwhelmed trying to cope with multiple children under the age of five years. They may have escaped domestic violence and many of them are under financial stress.

Do you or someone you support need help?
